About State Representative Rita Mayfield
Representative Rita Mayfield is a lifelong resident of the Waukegan – North Chicago area and is a graduate of Waukegan West High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia College in Computer Information Systems, a Master in Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Management and Organization Behavior with an Emphasis in Organization Development, both from Benedictine University.
Rita has over 20 years in public service dating back to high school where she first volunteered as a reader at the VA Medical Center, North Chicago.
She currently serves on several boards and in leadership positions for multiple community service organizations. Rita previously served as Vice President of the Waukegan Board of Education and is currently serving the community as the First African American Female elected to the position of 60th District State Representative.
About Eddie Soto, Director of LCTH
Eddie Soto is certified as an IESBGA/SBA Business Specialist (CBDA) and SBA 7(J) in government contracting negotiations. He holds a Harvard U certification in Contract Law. Prior, he spent 11 years at the College of Lake County (CLC) with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Grayslake, Vernon Hills, and the Waukegan Campus offices in Lake County, conducting over 2,700 client sessions and still facilitating workshops and business communication classes. A Waukegan resident, fluent in Spanish, he also owns E.S. Online Enterprises, Inc., a global branding and communications agency he founded in 2005. With 16 years as a small business owner and 24 years of corporate business management experience, Eddie is passionate about providing consulting services for marketing, business, branding, management, pricing strategy, email marketing, social media, advertising campaigns, and small business funding resources.
